Probably not needed: This depends on details you don't mention: Location, size, conditions that cuased it, fever, and more. But most inflamed nodes return to normal soon after the infection that caused it is clearing up. Your GP knows all this, and I see no reason not to trust her advice. Before seeking another opinion, contact your doctor and discuss why s/he believes nothing more need be done.
