Patellar wear: Recent data confirms the value of strengthening the muscles of our thighs and calves prior to knee arthroplasty. This is especially true for patients with marked wear of their knee cap. The stronger we make our quads , the less the force which is transmitted to the worn bone and hence the slower the amount of wear.
