Yes: Both are effective anti-allergic medications. The major difference is that Allegra has much less tendency to cause sleep, while Benadryl (diphenhydramine) commonly induces sleep. So taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night might help you sleep better. Hopefully these will relieve your allergic symptoms.
