Reflux?: The "bubble popping" sensation in the chest is likely to be gastric reflux - when the sphincter at the lower end of the esophagus fails to close properly, and the contents of the stomach gush upwards through the open sphincter. Gas and liquid from the stomach can cause the sensation of bubbles popping. A special x-ray or even an ultrasound can often confirm this as the problem.
