Answer: Stinging and burning at the application site is a side effect in up to 10% of people using Nizoral (ketoconazole) cream, and the face is particularly susceptible to this side effect, as the skin is more sensitive than other areas of the body. Would consider using another type of antifungal medication, or obtaining a second opinion on whether or not the rash is actually ringworm.
