Possible: No one can be right all the time and some times one needs to see how a patient responds to medication trial to reach the right diagnosis. Your gp might not have been wrong however since there is a chance that you might have had an irritant or allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in the topical cream. If oilatum helped, then the problem is dry skin but you may still have rosacea.
