Possible infection: Painful lumps around the butt cheeks can sometimes be caused by an infection. These can sometimes be close to the crease in the buttocks and be associated with the anus in which case they are known as a "perianal abscess". Sometimes they will get better and discharge with the help of warm compresses, other times they need lancing by a doctor. See a doctor if it persists more than a few days
