A member asked:

I have a lump in my left cheek about two weeks after i slipped on the ice and hit my cheek. its not painful, but certainly noticeable, like a knot under my skin. should i be concerned and what should i do about it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

These are usually the residual of blood that collected around injured tissue and solidified within the tissue layers. Sometime they contain collagen and calcium. They can take many months to gradually be recycled by the tissues and shrink Discuss the lump with your doc if you go in for another reason. I cannot come up with a worrisome reason it needs quicker attention.
