Absolutely : What you eat influences what hormones your body makes, and these in turn get to the baby and affect their growth. For example, high carb diet leads to increase insulin output by mom, and high insulin levels to the baby lead to really big baby. High protein, high fiber diet with lots of water and moderate dairy to insure adequate calcium intake is a great start. Don't forget your prenatal vitamin!
