Here are some...: Almost all urinary stones start off at the tips of calyceal papillae of kidneys where they attach with no Sx-pain. If they detach, drop, & move into ureter with urine, then resulting in wide range of pain reflecting various degree of ureteral spam & obstruction. A <4-mm stone, on average, will pass through ureter into bladder in 2 weeks for some 75-85% of cases. More? Ask urologist...
