A member asked:

Is allergy testing on skin safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. John Chiu answered

Yes: but only when the proper precautions are taken. For example, one should be tested to the prick method first before intradermal skin testing is done if the prick test was negative. Even then , anaphylaxis may rarely occur. Is it 100% safe? Nothing is. Is it 99% safe, yes when done by a board certified allergist/ENT.
