Multiple causes: There are many other causes of irregular menstrual cycles besides pregnancy. Extremes of weight, excessive exercise, medications, other medical conditions, stress, etc can trigger changes with your bleeding pattern. If you are not pregnant, a GYN can obtain lab tests and do a history and physical exam to determine what's causing the problem.
