Abnormally high: A normal resting pulse (whether sitting or standing) is 60-100 (though most commonly 60-80). 120 is abnormally high and deserves evaluation by a doctor. If you're not having discomfort it's not an emergency but you should see a doc soon to evaluate. Potential causes include hyperthyroidism, cardiac arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation, stress, excess caffeine, side effects of drugs and infections.
