I have been having pain going down my leg, makes my whole leg hurt down n to my foot. have back prob what nerve root could b doing that what will help?

Comments: It is possible that you are suffering from sciatica, and the most likely nerve root levels would be L-5 and/or S-1 There are other explanations, and you would be best served by an exam by your doctor. Therapy can be based upon causation.

L5-S1 disk hern-: .erniations will cause this, but there is overlap, depending on nerve roots variability. So L4-L5 can also be the cause. A physical examination is very helpful. The findings of the L5-S1 can be confirmed if your Achilles' tendon reflex is gone, 4-5 extensor to the great toe is weak . 3-4 is the patellar tendon reflex is gone or diminished, & quads may be weak.MRI also is great to localize where.

Wait a minute...: Back problems are not the only things that could cause your whole leg to hurt. Without a thorough examination it would be unwise not to include the possibility of other serious conditions such as arterial vascular disease or deep vein thrombosis. You might want to consult with your family doctor to start. It would be best not to delay in seeking care for too long.
