A number of ways: There are a number of possible treatments for a pinched nerve. These include (but are not limited to) steroid injections, surgical decompression, physical therapy and osteopathic manipulation. What particular treatment you receive will depend on the severity of your symptoms and the skill and expertise of your treating physician.

Talk to MD: This can be treated either conservatively or with anything up to surgery. First talk to pcp and try nsaids and rest. If this doesn't work consult pain doctor or spine surgeon to investigate options.

Multiple: In most cases the symptoms will resolve with time & rest. Options include certain exercises, hot/cold packs, stretching exercises, physical therapy, chiropratic care, oral steroids, nsaid, epidural steroid injections & lastly surgery. I would recommend that you see your pcp for an evaluation.
