About

Bio

Dr. Zengo is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. His practice for the last 15 years has been devoted to Bio-Identical Medicine using accurate testing and treating stress induced hormone imbalances in the female, male, adrenal, and thyroid hormone systems. Dr. Zengo has performed over 30,000 encounters for BHRT and weight loss in his Georgia practice. This includes the interpretation of over 10,000 salivary hormone profiles, neurotransmitter tests, and GI Health panels. We also treat hypothyroidism using Armour, Naturethroid, and T3 therapy as needed and reflected by sensitive blood testing for TSH, FT4, FT3, and Thyroid Antibodies. We offer discounted salivary test kits that patients can do from their own homes. Our in-house compounding lab can fill most BHRT cream prescriptions in under 24 hours. Our online practice can see HealthTap patients in California, Florida, Georgia, and Arizona and write prescriptions for ongoing care and management. We are happy to meet with patients in all other locations for consultation, testing and results interpretation. We can collaborate with your local physician to help you get treated. Dr. Zengo's practice of medicine has evolved from a traditional OB/GYN practice to one that focuses on the reality that most symptoms as we age are caused by stress-induced hormone imbalances. This method of bio-identical medicine for women and men of all ages has proven to be a very effective approach to symptoms such as... -Fatigue -Poor Sleep -Weight Gain -Irritability -Lack of Drive -Mental Fog -Menopause/Andropause -Cyclic PMS/PMDD -Cold Intolerance/Low Thyroid Symptoms Safe accurate treatment of these symptoms can utilize BHRT instead of psychoactive drugs, sleeping pills, and prescription stimulants that often cause more side effects than benefit. If you would like a fresh approach to your symptoms by "testing your stress level", please schedule your online consultation now.

Period timing & flow: If period timing is regular and predictable, it is OK if the amount of the flow or flow color changes one time. Periods that get consistently heavy over a few months should be addressed with your doctor. Since you did not skip a period, just keep track of the expected date of the next period and if that one is normal, nothing else needs to be done. If you have any other symptoms, see your doc.

Follow-Up Visit?: Typically patients see their provider around 6 weeks after a mirena insertion for a check-up. Have you had that visit yet? If not, please call for that visit now. Irregular spotting is common for a couple of months after insertion, but daily bleeding or heavy bleeding is not common. Also, the mirena should not cause any new pain or discomfort months after insertion.

Stopping BC is OK: You can always stop birth control. Wait until the end of the pack. Also, remember that you can get pregnant immediately, so use another method of birth control. Give it 3 cycles and see if your periods get more painful again. If they do, see your GYN for other options if you do not like taking birth control. Also, use OTC NSAID's like naproxen during your periods to control inflammation/pain
