Air? reflux? C MD: May be air/gas, fluid. Stomach, hiatal hernia. Try eating less, don't lie down for 2 hours after eating, avoid carbonated beverages. See your doc.

Air trapped?: Generally when one has trouble exhaling (as opposed to an unsatisfying inspiration or air hunger) the suggestion is of airways obstruction. Asthma is the commonest cause. Are you allergic to dust, dander, or other material in and around your bed? Alternatively, if it only occurs lying down, you could have upper airway obstruction. See an ENT doctor.
