ARollingStoneGathers: I'll just bet that was a kidney stone. When any hollow tube in the body gets blocked it freaks out and starts contracting, trying to get rid of the blockage. And in your case those contractions went all the way down to your bladder, that started yelling "Pee,pee!" If the pain went away then the stone either passed or found a more comfortable position in there- and might act-up again in the future.
