Unsual: Most diabetics are not affected by inhaled steroid except in very high doses. The alternatives include leukotriene modifier, Xolair, and Nucala (and another similar product just approved). Leukotriene modifier is not as effective as inhaled steroid, and the others require pre-authorization (expensive). Have you considered consulting an allergist?

See below: Anoro would not affect your blood sugar. However, for asthma, the mainstay of therapy is an inhaled corticosteroid. That's what's affecting your blood sugar. As far was what's safe - or if you could come off the steroid - that would be up to you and your pulmonologist. It would be difficult to say without knowing your history, lung function tests, symptoms and a log of your blood sugars.
