Confusing statement: If strep is confirmed on exam/by testing, the routine is 24 hrs of abx prior to return to school.It is a public health precaution so he doesn't continue to spread it at school.By 24 hrs of abx the risk has dropped significantly.Why you need to find another provider is between you and the original doc.
