Probably, yes: Acid Reflux(GERD) can lead to cancer of the esophagus(GE Junction). So it has to be treated with antacids such as PPI pills. You may need a gastroenterologist to assess and guide you in long term care of this problem.

PPI and cancer: We believe that chronic irritation of the lower part of the esophagus just before it empties into the stomach (gastric reflux) may play a big role in the development of esophageal cancer. PPI's decrease the amt of acid in the stomach and thus the irritation and thus may lower the risk of stomach cancer.
