A member asked:

What are symptoms for hairline fractures in the cheekbone. can that be diagnosed without a x-ray?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you had: a traumatic event to your cheekbone (zygomatic arch), then you may have a fracture that should show up on facial X-rays after 1-2 weeks. Persistent pain in specific location on examination of the arch as well as facial asymmetry/ abnormal indentation, etc. It's more common for the orbital bone to fracture during a traumatic fall/ accident.
