Not smart: You can do more damage than good. A tooth is like an iceberg, most of it is under the surface. You will only complicate the situation by attempting self treatment. You can ask your Dentist for an Oral Surgical Specialist, or find one yourself, who can see you within 24 hours. If the tooth is as badly damaged as you describe, you will probably be best served by seeing a Specislist.
