Not common but: Not rare either. In my own patient population (most of them have allergic or immune problem), chronic sinusitis accounts for about 1% of the visits. The incidence is likely much lower in the general population. If you do have it and the CT did not show obstruction at the sinus openings (ostia), you should consider getting an allergy and possibly an immune evaluation.
