Levoscoliosis: Means that spinal column is bent to left, as opposed to right. Causes could be neurological, skeletal, muscular or any combination of those. It is usually exacerbated during the "growth spurt" at about 11-13 yr. It is more prevalent in girls by 9:1. You always have to differentiate slouching from true scoliosis. The pt should stand erect and bend at waist. The scapula will rise as will heel. Easy!
