No idea but...: It is almost never necessary to do it because the band of tissue frequently regresses on its own. If your child is growing well as plotted out on the standard growth curves that means he is sucking well and procedure is unnecessary.

Depends: Most insurers will cover this to $200-$400 depending on the region of the country and who/when it is done. I noticed an increased need over the past decade for some reason. Some insurers considered this as not covered well care and stick parents with a big co-pay or self pay.It is best to find out from your insurer and or the doc involved.
