Starting OCP's: Starting a birth control pill on the first day of your period is fine, although many doctors want patients to wait until their period has progressed a few days before starting OC's. Your lining most likely did not shed as quickly when you started the pill. Your periods should be in sync with the pill pack by the second or third pack at the latest. If bleeding gets heavier, see your doctor.
