Remove the pressure.: The first issue is to make sure the callous is not, in fact, a wart. Callous can form, especially on the second toe, when the toe is longer than it's neighboring toes. The added length enables more pressure to be directed to the toe and form a callous. Secondary problems could hammer or mallet toe development. Warts are caused by a virus and the treatment varies depending on location and severity.
