Hardware in wrist: Once the hardware that is in the bone has been removed it takes 6-8 weeks for that to fill in with new bone. It is important to protect the wrist and hand during that time frame to avoid fractures from occurring.

Removing bone screw: After the anesthetic and the exposure is like a screw in any solid substance. except can be overlying tissue or bone that the surgeon has to remove. A screw hole in healthy good bone is expected to fill in over several months. Depending upon the location of the screw the surgeon may recommend a splint or temporary alteration of activity but that is very individualized. ask you surgeon more
