A member asked:
Does suboxone work with a withdrawal while easing the discomfort or does it just simply prolong withdrawal from opiates?

Suboxone: Suboxone is two medicine, buprenorphine and naloxone.
Buprenorphine will block withdrawal symptoms because it interacts as a partial agonist at the opiod receptor, causing less of an opiod effect than full opiod agonists. There is a ceiling effect and taking more will not make a patient feel high.
Naloxone, the 2nd ingredient, blocks any full opioids such as cocaine, heroin, a patient takes
