For someone who has just started suboxone in a treatment facility, today being day 1, when will withdrawal happen?

It already has: You have to be in withdrawal already when starting Suboxone and then it quickly relieves many symptoms. Depending on the opiate usually 12-24 hours is recommended from last use to starting suboxone, degree of relief depends on factors such as amount and type of opiate used and amount of Suboxone given.

It depends: If the treatment facility intends to maintain the person on Suboxone after discharge, that is a good thing and the facility needs to find a follow-up appointment so the Suboxone can be continued as an outpatient. If the facility plans to only use the Suboxone while the person is there, this is bad news. The person will then have to "detox" off the Suboxone on their own after they're discharged.
