Impossible to know: This type of pain can simply be caused by a muscle pull (small muscles between the ribs) or irritation of the lining around the lung; both relatively benign. However, a collapsed lung can also manifest in this way and would require urgent, if not emergent, medical attention. One must examine you to be sure. I recommend you seek the care of a physician now.
