A member asked:

I had dull pain in rlq for 4 days, now i have a pain in llq that is worse than the rlq pain but still bearable, does appendicitis pain switch sides?

It's possible...: I'm sorry you're suffering with this pain. The uncertainty certainly adds to the worry. To answer your question, appendicitis pain can move from right to left, but it's unusual and occurs when the appendix is positioned differently than others (usually since birth). As a 17 year old woman, ovarian, intestinal pains and pregnancy would also be things to think about. Best wishes!

Not likely: It is possible for the pain of appendicitis to be on either side (though usually on the right), and it can start in the middle and move to either side, but it's unlikely to move from sharp rt sided pain to sharp left sided pain. Pain from your bowels or from cysts or other problems with your ovaries can move from side to side.
