Embryology 101: Yes, there is a connection between the belly button (umbilicus) and the urogenital organs (bladder) that exists as we develop in the womb. Once we are born, those passageways close off, but they never completely disintegrate internally, so if you dig around in your belly button, you will feel it deep in the pelvis.
