What happens and how long are you hospitalized for a sever kidney failure?

Depends!: This all depends on how ill you are, and the cause of your renal failure. Emergent dialysis may be a temporary measure in some situations. But if you've been heading into renal failure for a while, you will be stabilized. Plans will be made with you for ongoing dialysis, and hopefully, preparation for transplant. If ongoing dialysis will be needed, consider home dialysis - more flexibility.
