A member asked:

Is it normal for hctz, (hydrochlorothiazide) alone or in combo with lisinopril, to spike one's blood sugar by 20-30 points?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) can affect gluc: a known side effect of HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) is the possibility of elevated blood sugar levels. This should be taken into account if you are taking a thyazide Rx and should be adequately followed. This medication can also affect cholesterol levels.
