Almost simlar number: Cancer is now starting to kill more people than heart disease except in the very elderly(over 85 year age group). This isi because the survival of heart diseases has improved greatly in the last 25-30 years whereas cancer related deaths are either same or increasing. The number of cancer related deaths is about 600, 000 per year in the us alone.
