Degenerative disc : Degenerative disc disease is very common radiographically but does not necessarily mean symptoms will develop. Radiculopathy, or pain/odd feelings down the legs, can be caused when the disc pinches a nerve as it exits the spinal column. Back pain by itself is a much more heterogenous problem and may or may not be explained by degenerative changes seen on imaging studies like MRI.
