Yes: Current recommendation is for teenage girls to see their Gynecologist (GYN) or Family Doc btwn 13-15yo even tho most will not need Pap smear or pelvic exam at that time. Check out http://www.girlshealth.gov/body/health_help/gynecologist.html & http://kidshealth.org/en/parents/first-gyn-exam.html. You should discuss STD risk & screening, birth control options & HPV vaccination during this visit.

First Gyn visit: If you are sexually active you probably should see a Gyn. If not just to discuss prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy prevention, but to also establish a relationship with a female healthcare specialist. http://m.acog.org/Patients/FAQs/Your-First-Gynecologic-Visit-Especially-for-Teens?IsMobileSet=true
