Good effects: If you have poorly controlled diabetes getting it in good control will help you feel better in the short term by reducing the amount you need to drink and urinate, as well as improving your energy level and may improve blurry vision. In the long term having well-controlled diabetes can reduce your risk of eye and kidney disease and nerve damage and may also help with heart disease.

Low carb: The best way to control and significantly reverse a lot of symptoms of diabetes is to completely avoid starch and processed sugar. Make sure you eat 2 to 4 ounces of lean protein per meal and try to eat mostly vegetables and some fruit. I recommend 2 cups of fruit and 8 cups of vegetable a day in three meals and two low sugar snacks like nuts or green veggies. Make sure you consult your physician if you're on medications for diabetes or any prescription medication.
