CR Protein: C Reactive a Protein levels rise in response to inflammation. Gingivitis is an inflammatory process in response to infection. "White & Dark" patches are not typical signs of Gingivitis. Please call a Periodontist, a gum/bone specialist, for evaluation. White lesions required immediate attention.

Yes/no: No because it could be simply blanched tissue or trauma from current treatment which will heal on its own and the dark patch could be an "amalgam tattoo" if old amalgam was removed during treatment. If you still have concern just call the dentist that did the work and ask them to evaluate the area. No worries
