Rectus femoris: This really depends on what issues are arising. This muscle is involved with flexing the thigh at the hip and extending the leg at the knee. If those functions are still maintained then surgery is not needed. If its a partial tear confirmed on testing then you may want to consider Stem Cell/PRP injection into the tear.
