Neither: Try sleep hygiene first: no caffeinated beverages in the evening, no vigorous physical exercise in the evening too, no TV/pc/smartphone at least one hour prior to bed time, cool, dark and quiet bedroom, fixed time to retire, preferably 1-2hours before midnight. Try those first before either benadryl (diphenhydramine) or supplements, good luck
