Doctor can evaluate: Normal, healthy people do not have a "hard mass" in their tummies. A "hard mass" anywhere in the tummy needs an evaluation by a doctor. One's primary care doctor is the best place to start. Underneath the ribs, a mass could be the liver or spleen, or something inside the liver or inside the spleen.
