Elevated glucose: can be common in pre-diabetes and in diabetic patients. The A1C value encompasses a 3 month span of the patient's glucose versus a fasting blood glucose which can change from day to day based on what the patient eats, how much they eat and at what time they ate. Daily exercise along with a healthy diet can significantly lower the daily FBG as well as the A1C.
