It takes time: The standard recommendation is lots of rest and hydration, and take anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen if needed for fever and muscle aches, etc. Warm lemon water with honey can help with cough, and a hot shower or nasal saline can help with sinus congestion. Salt water gurgle can help with sore throat. There is no magic bullet. Your body will get rid of the cold naturally.

Chill! (Rest!): Person asks, What should I do to get rid of my cold? Most Colds go by themselves provided one's immunity is not compromised. Grandma's wisdom is still relevant: Chill! (Rest!), Stay warm & Cozy, Drink plenty of Fluids especially warm ones. Take OTC Fever medicine/ decongestants if needed, go to bed early and call the Doctor if the symptoms still linger on a few days later.

Chronic Cold: How old are you, what is your gender, for how long you had the symptoms? All this is basic to know. What color are the secretions? do you have fever, how high? do you feel sick? are the sinuses blocked? is the chest mid-line hurting? Have you taken antibiotics? Did they helped, obviously not much. You need a chest X ray, culture of secretions, cytology, you need a pulmonologist.
