A member asked:

Is it bad to go 2 wks without statins cause your doctor wont refill till you see him? my chol can go up to almost 400. should i see someone else?

See your doctor: It's always best to take your meds regularly, and avoid any breaks. If you have never had a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular event, then stopping for 2 weeks probably isn't dangerous. It's more important to stay on the meds if you've already had those problems. Most physicians do want you to see them regularly in order to continue prescribing, so you should return to see your doctor!
