Blood test for a 59 : That would depend on past history, family history and current medical problems, for ex. If cholesterol had not been checked for 5 years that would be a good place to start as well as a basic metabolic profile that could look at blood sugar if overweight,

Needs doctor order: Doctors on HealthTap can order needed tests at a virtual visit. Screening tests for males >40 years old: fasting lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides), and thyroid function (TSH). Urinalysis, hemogram and comprehensive metabolic panel often done. It's controversial whether to do PSA screening for prostate cancer in men. Additional testing may be warranted based on symptoms or past history.
