It will probably hur: Hot will probably irritate more. Try putting ice or a topical medicine like ambesol. If it does not hey better with conservative measures, go see an ENT specialist who can probably prescribe something for you.

For what reason ?: To sterilize it? To make it heal faster? You'll only burn yourself and be in even more pain. It will heal on its own in 10 to 14 days.

STOP!: Ulcer means surface of your mucosa has been damaged by trauma, pathogen, or other causes. Steam is produced by boiling water. Would you put your hand into a pot of boiling water. Your tissue is already damaged. Don't make it worse by burning the tissue. Ask your Dentist for safe and effective treatment for your mouth ulcer. DIY treatment can cause permanent damage.

DDS Consultation: Contact your dentist for a definitive diagnosis. If it is determined to be an apthous ulcer, laser therapy can be used to lessen the duration.
