Irregularity: A young girl's first periods tend to be very irregular, this is not unusual for the first year, but make sure with a trip to the OB for sime reassurance

Normal: It's NORMAL for periods to be irregular for 1-2 years after menarche (first period). Not to worry. She may skip several months and then have 2 in one month. Hormonal levels are all over the place at this stage, so ovulation and periods tend to be quite erratic ad well. Don't need to see OB to have this checked Out. Talk to pediatrician at her regular check up
